Planning Vermont's Energy Future on VPR's Switchboard

Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7 pm: On Switchboard tonight, Bob Kinzel hosts a discussion on the long-term planning for the state's energy needs. Join the conversation with guests David O'Brien of the Public Service Department and Paul Burns of the Vermont Public Interest Research Group.

VPIRG has called on the Vermont Public Service Department to place much greater emphasis on conservation programs and renewable energy sources. VPIRG believes that Vermont can get about one-sixth of its future energy from wind projects. But, Commissioner David O'Brien has stated that VPIRG's goals are unrealistic.

Take a look at the Draft Vermont Energy Plan and VPIRG's energy plan before the show if you're interested.

UPDATE: If you missed the show Tuesday night, you can replay the broadcast on VPR's website.
