Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney Steps up Opposition to Cape Wind Project During Visit with White House Chief of Staff

The Boston Globe is reporting this morning that Gov. Mitt Romney has gone on the offensive against the Cape Wind project only two days after the Army Corps of Engineers published its Draft EIS on the project. According to the Globe article, Romney called for a moratorium on ocean wind developments during his visit with White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card yesterday. The article also notes that groups opposing construction of the Cape Wind project have called for an extension in the public comment period from 60 to 180 days, arguing that the public deserves more time to evaluate the 4,000 page DEIS.
