Go Fly a Kite for Clean Energy

From scotsman.com (via sustainablog and the wind turbine blog) comes this new idea for wind power generation: a five-mile long chain of kites capable of producing 100 MW of power. "The 'Laddermill' is a chain of controllable wing-like kites attached to a looped cable stretching more than five miles into the sky. "

Somewhat similar to Bizra Technologies' idea for wind turbines without support towers.

There's more over at the Laddermill website including some conceptual images and movies of just what these kites might look like.
