FERC Publishes Notice of Proposed Rule Making for New Wind Power Interconnection Standards

As we mentioned last week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is in the process of reviewing standards and guidelines for interconnecting large wind power facilities to the national electric grid. After some delay, FERC has finally published its Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) in the Federal Register, and last week made a draft of the Notice available on its website.

FERC will be accepting comments on the Notice for 30-days from the January 24, 2005 publication date. You can submit comments directly on-line.

Renewable energy access.com posted an article today on the scope of regulations under consideration, and the wind industry's reaction to the possible new rules.
