One Minute Rechargable Lithium-Ion Battery

A recent post over at Alternative Energy Blog highlights Toshiba's development of a new lithium-ion battery that can be recharged in one minute. According to the Toshiba press release, the new battery uses "new nano-particles to prevent organic liquid electrolytes from reducing during battery recharging. The nano-particles quickly absorb and store vast amount of lithium ions, without causing any deterioration in the electrode."

As James points out, its not difficult to imagine the potential for this new technology to revolutionize electric car development.
